At each concert we do this summer (whether it’s a festival, summer tour date with Kutless, or our own date) we will sign and date either a pick or drumstick that we used during that show. At the end of the summer we will be giving away all of those items along with a t-shirt, EPs, signed posters, and drumheads!
All you have to do is call us at (615) 823-8926 to sign up for mobile updates (feel free to leave a nice message for us while you are at it). Starting at Ichthus Festival on June 10, we will give you weekly updates from the road that will include a “special word.”
Once the summer is over, we will leave you a message instructing you how to send us the sentence (composed of the “special words”) and be entered to win!
There will be 1 grand prize winner who will receive:
An Esterlyn t-shirt, signed drumheads, signed and dated drumsticks, signed and dated picks, a signed poster and copy of the Mending the Meaning EP
There will also be 10 2nd place winners who will receive:
Signed and dated picks, a signed poster and copy of the Mending the Meaning EP
Pretty easy! We look forward to hearing from all of you and hopefully seeing most of you this summer!

What separated Esterlyn’s debut project, Lamps, from other pop/rock acts was the passion of lead singer’s Luke Caldwell’s voice and his artistic songwriting. What’s not lacking on Mending the Meaning Acoustic EP, are the vocals and the lyrics which are only amplified on the five song EP.
With the intention of keeping things simple, teaming up with producer Rob Hawkins (Fireflight, Nevertheless, Jackson Waters) certainly was not a bad thing. The strings of the first song, “Sweet Love,” are finely tuned and are reminiscent of Jon Foreman’s solo EPs which allow listeners to easily listen to the well-crafted lyrics’ that speak of God’s grace (”I stop again take a breath/I think about my past regrets /A smile breaks and finds a place/In this valley I see your grace”). The piano driven “Esther” is an epic track where Caldwell’s vocals shine and where the message of God’s faithfulness to the weak is passionate rather than cliché.
The vocal hooks are a strong on virtually all points throughout Mending the Meaning, but particularly on the acoustic guitar-led “Still Beauty To Be Found.” The soft “How Great Is Your Love” is very complex, using the most verity of instruments that enhance the melancholy tone of the lyrically simple tune. The contrast to “How Great Is Your Love” is “Free the Light,” where Caldwell’s vocals take precedence over the music to drive a song with a Lamps-like message (”Won’t you free the light/Let it come inside/Fall to your knees/Surrender your life. Can this life be new/Could it be the one to change you”).
On Mending the Meaning Acoustic EP, the music is well-crafted but the passionate lyrics are really where Esterlyn strikes gold again. Great ballads such as these will be an excellent addition to the band’s arsenal. Those who want more of Jon Foreman’s guitar driven acoustic ballads should looks up Mending the Meaning Acoustic EP.

Well we just finished up the Creation Festival the tour. We had so much fun! We had the opportunity to play in front of more then 50,000 people during the 2 month tour and we are so grateful to Creation Festival for giving us the opportunity. Shawn and I drove 29 hours to get home to Boise, Idaho and now we are here until Christmas. Please keep me and my wife in your prayers as we will be having our first child in January. We are so excited and we look forward to serving the Lord together as a family. If you have not yet had a chance please go to www.esterlyn.com/revealyourlove and enter our contest to win a free hot air balloon ride with us! God bless you.
